Armoire entertainment center – Having a nice entertainment center these days does not mean you have to keep your cool electronics shut up in a cabinet. You can create a crisp, modern look from a variety of open shelves types – from classic to unusual. But before falling in love with the trendy media wall, make sure it fits your space and overall appearance.
Keep It Simple
Sometimes simple is best. If you have a flat screen TV hanging on the wall and only one or two electronic components to go with it. You may want to stick to a simple shelving alternative instead of a whole armoire entertainment center. Buy a small shelf or long table or install a floating shelf underneath your TV to keep the few electronics you own.
Pick up an armoire or a pair of extra double cabinets from a home improvement shop, furniture store, flea market. Take everything from the inside of the armoire, and then add a shelf about half way up the inside of your TV to sit on. Turning basic kitchen shutters into an armoire entertainment center, bolt a cabinet on top of each other. If there is a divider in the middle, remove it and replace the doors so that they meet in the middle. Keep your TV in the best cabinets and entertainment consoles at the bottom. You can add shelves as needed for both options.
